WHAT IS A SHORT TERM WORK VISA?

Applicants eligible for a Short Term Work Visa are those wanting to enter South Africa on short notice to conduct work under the Visitor Visa Category. This visa application is commonly known as a Section 11 (2) application. A motivational letter must be presented motivating reasons why applicant is needed in South Africa to work. This visa can only be processed abroad and should take approximately 10 days depending on the South African Embassy’s workload.

IMPORTANT RULES FOR A SHORT TERM WORK VISA

Please note that a South African Short Term Work Visa approval is a one-time, non-renewable permit allowing the applicant to work temporarily in South Africa.

  1. The application must be accompanied by a detailed explanation as to why the applicant is needed in South Africa for short term work.
  2. The company or organisation bringing over the applicant must be a registered and legitimate entity.
  3. A Short Term Work Visa cannot be changed to any other type of visa while in South Africa.

  1. Contract workers
  2. Exotic Dancers
  3. Self-Employed Persons
  4. Casual labourers
  5. Project management workers
  6. Seasonal labourers
  7. Work-seeking persons
