WHAT ARE SPOUSAL AND LIFE PARTNER VISAS?

A Spouse or partner of a South African citizen or Permanent Resident may also apply for a Spousal or Life Partner Visa for South Africa, depending on the status of their relationship. This visa allows the partner of the permanent South African citizen 2-3 years of residency. It may also be extended. First time applicants must do their applications whilst still in their country of residence.

WHAT IS A RELATIVES VISA?

Eligible relatives of a South African citizen who are considered immediate family may apply for a Relative Visa in South Africa. This provides residency for up to two years and can be extended.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR SPOUSAL AND RELATIVES VISAS?

In order to apply for a South African Spousal, Life Partner, and or Relatives Visa, applicants must show proper documentation of cohabitation and also proof of joint financial accountability.
