Can I get a Tourist Visa for South Africa?
When preparing to enter South Africa as a visitor or tourist, you can only stay for 90 days or less. There are countries whose residents are excused from having to apply for a Tourist Visa in order to enter South Africa. However you can ask our legal experts to see if you’re eligible to be a tourist within South Africa.
Who should apply for a Tourist Visa?
Those who are residents of countries that are NOT in the Visa Exemption List are required to apply for a Tourist Visa in order to enter SA. It must be applied for and administered in the resident country of the applicant. Successful applicants are also allowed one extension on their Tourist Visa per entry. An extension must be requested within 60 days of the originally issued visa’s expiration date.
Applicants that are residents of one country, but hold a passport from a different country from that residency are allowed to apply for a Tourist Visa in their country of residence. The applicant must have a valid passport expiring no less than 30 days after the end of the intended visit. Tourist Visas are generally valid for 30 to 90 days, depending on which passport you hold.
